New areas of science are a priority

A delegation of the Anyang Institute of Technology from China has paid a working visit to the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

 

At the meeting, the director of the Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization of KazNU, Yesbol Omirzhanov, stressed the importance of expanding bilateral ties, spoke about the university's active scientific and innovative activities, numerous research centers and international projects.

It should be noted that in October 2025, the 23rd International Professional Personnel Exchange Conference was held in Shanghai, attended by university staff. During the event, a memorandum was signed between the Chinese National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC China National Nuclear Corporation), Harbin University of Engineering (HEU) and KazNU.  "Kazakhstan and China are entering a new stage of strategic partnership. Today, cooperation in the fields of science, education and technology is becoming not just a bridge between our countries, but also a tool for building a sustainable future",- said the Director of the Department of International Cooperation.

Timur Imankulov, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, also spoke at the meeting, speaking about the relatively young faculty, which is currently actively developing the field of artificial intelligence and digitalization. In this regard, the faculty has opened a department of artificial intelligence and BigData to train specialists in this field. And in this area, KazNU and Anyang Technological Institute have a wide field for joint projects and initiatives.

Li Honggang, Deputy Rector of Anyang Institute of Technology and head of the delegation, in turn noted the rich history and practiceoriented mission of the university, specializing in personnel training in such fields as aviation, advanced engineering, civil engineering, chemical technology, electronics and information technology, etc. In conclusion, the guest of honor expressed interest in developing joint training programs, exchanging experience in the field of information technology, and creating joint research platforms.

During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of cooperation: the expansion of academic exchange, the implementation of joint educational programs, as well as the development of joint research projects and laboratories. The participants also considered opportunities for closer coordination in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. Following the meeting, the parties expressed their mutual willingness to sign new agreements and implement projects aimed at strengthening academic and scientific ties.
