15 december, 2025

At the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, the Departments of Genetics and Molecular Biology and Zoology, Histology and Cytology, together with 1st- and 3rd-year students of the “Biology” and “Genetics” programs, conducted a seminar within the framework of SDG 3: “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages” entitled “My Reproductive Health: Awareness, Planning, and Prevention.”

The seminar was dedicated to key aspects of women’s reproductive health and aimed to increase personal awareness and health literacy. Topics discussed included hormonal health, infertility prevention, and in vitro fertilization (IVF): its definition, indications for use, as well as its effectiveness and safety.

An important outcome of the seminar was the development and implementation of a social questionnaire that covered a wide range of issues, such as menstrual cycle tracking, gynecological visits, knowledge of contraception and sexual health, as well as assessment of awareness levels and the desire to receive reproductive health information at the university.

The results of the survey convincingly confirmed the urgent need and relevance of addressing this topic among the student community, revealing significant gaps in knowledge on key issues of reproductive health and family planning.
