Partnership with Shenzhen University School of Basic Medical Sciences under SDG No. 17

The Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University consistently develops international cooperation with Shenzhen University within a strategic partnership in the fields of biomedicine and biotechnology.

Students of the educational programs “Biological Engineering” and “Biotechnology” of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University are participating in an academic mobility program at the School of Basic Medical Sciences from August 2025 to February 2026, as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Shenzhen University in May 2023. This cooperation aims to combine the educational and scientific potential of both institutions and to promote joint initiatives in priority research areas.

The partnership includes student and faculty exchange, organization of summer schools and joint educational activities, as well as the development of academic mobility and scientific collaboration. Such cooperation strengthens sustainable institutional ties, facilitates knowledge exchange and best practices, and supports the development of joint research projects.

The implementation of this partnership aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 17 – “Partnerships for the Goals”, highlighting the importance of international academic and scientific cooperation in achieving sustainable development, strengthening research capacity, and training specialists with international experience.
