KazNU students awarded POSCO scholarship

Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Management Board and Rector of Al–Farabi Kazakh National University, received Moon Sung-Ki, General Director of POSCO Corporation's Central Asia division.

During the meeting, Moon Sung-Ki solemnly presented, on behalf of POSCO Corporation, a special one-time nominal scholarship to the 10 best students studying at the faculties of International Relations, Law, Philology, information Technology and Artificial intelligence.

The sides also exchanged views on the expansion of partnership and the implementation of joint projects.

Zhanseit Tuimebayev acquainted the guest of honor with the scientific potential of the university and noted that the scholarship provided to students is a significant support for young people.

"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to POSCO Corporation for the financial support of young students. In the future, it is important to expand cooperation and jointly implement large-scale initiatives. As part of the partnership, it is necessary to consider the issue of organizing internships for KazNU employees at POSCO in Korea. I also suggest considering the possibility of opening a POSCO corporation center at the university",- said the rector.

In turn, Moon Sung-Ki thanked the university's management and staff for the warm welcome and expressed his willingness to support the proposals made. He expressed confidence in the further development of the partnership between POSCO Corporation and KazNU.
