On December 15, 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an online master class by the foreign professor Abel Polese for PhD students of the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies. The event was organized within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 17, “Partnerships for the Goals,” and aimed at expanding educational opportunities as well as strengthening international academic cooperation.
During the master class, the professor presented practical approaches to selecting and formulating research topics, structuring doctoral dissertations, and applying qualitative and quantitative methods in political science. Special attention was paid to issues of publication activity, academic ethics, and building an international academic career.
PhD students actively participated in the discussion, asked questions related to research topics, structure, and methodology, and received personalized feedback on their research projects. As a result of the master class, participants obtained practical recommendations aimed at improving the quality of their dissertation and research work.
