Scientific Cooperation and Sustainable Development: Participation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Scholars in an International Conference

Scholars from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Economics and Business and Higher School of Management, participated in the II International Conference of Researchers on Economics and Social Sciences (ICRESS), held at UNEC University in Baku, Azerbaijan, under the theme “Sustainable Development and Innovation Economy.” The conference brought together professors, researchers, and experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Hungary, China, and Uzbekistan.

During the opening ceremony, UNEC Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Professor Rovnag Rzayev, emphasized the critical importance of strengthening scientific research in a rapidly changing global environment, expressed confidence that the conference would foster scientific cooperation, and highly appreciated the participants’ strong interest in the event.

At the plenary session, representing Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Head of the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Economics and Business and Higher School of Management, Galiya  Dauliyeva, delivered a presentation entitled “Human capital as the foundation for developing entrepreneurial potential: ESG principles, startup infrastructure, and digital transformation,” highlighting interim results of scientific research on an international platform. In her speech, she stressed that the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals is a priority and strategically important area for Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, noting the university’s active development of scientific directions and implementation of significant initiatives that contribute to strengthening its scientific, educational, and practical input into the global sustainable development agenda.

The active participation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the international scientific arena represents a major step toward expanding international scientific cooperation, strengthening its scientific image, and enhancing global competitiveness. Participation in the conference was carried out within the framework of the scientific project IRN AP23489032 “Researching SME impact on reducing income inequality and poverty levels in Kazakhstan's regions to mitigate local social turbulence risks.”
