Round Table on Joint Research in Materials Science (KazNU in cooperation with NPU). SDG 4 and SDG 9

The Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is organizing an international round table entitled “Joint Research in Materials Science”, aimed at fostering academic dialogue, strengthening international cooperation, and establishing long-term partnerships in the field of materials science and advanced engineering technologies.

The event will bring together leading scientists, professors, and researchers from KazNU and partner international universities. The program will address key areas of contemporary materials science, including perovskite solar cells, nanostructured and high-entropy materials, superconductors, chalcogenide thin-film systems, electrochemical coatings, as well as the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods in materials research.

The round table program includes:

• plenary and invited scientific lectures;

• signing of cooperation agreements;

• discussions on joint research projects and co-supervision of Master’s and PhD theses;

• a leadership lecture for undergraduate students interested in double degree programs;

• visits to research laboratories and scientific centers;

• discussion of prospects for establishing a joint research laboratory.

Contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The event contributes to the achievement of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

• SDG 4 — Quality Education: development of research competencies, promotion of international academic mobility, and training of highly qualified research personnel;

• SDG 9 — Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: advancement of innovative materials and technologies oriented toward scientific, technological, and industrial applications.

The round table will serve as an important platform for strengthening international partnerships and expanding the research potential of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
