Meeting with College Students on Carbon Management

On December 23, 2025, a meeting was held at the Almaty State Business College with representatives of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Higher School of Economics and Business (HSEB), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU). The session was conducted by Senior Lecturer G. I. Supugaliyeva and doctoral student Madi Arystanbek for students on the topic “Introduction to Carbon Management.” The event was organized within the framework of SDG 13: Climate Action.

During the meeting, participants were introduced to the core principles of carbon management and its role in mitigating negative climate impacts. Particular attention was paid to explaining key concepts such as carbon credits, carbon offsets, and corporate carbon reporting. Students learned how companies account for and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as how environmental responsibility is shaped in modern business practices.

The discussion was informative and practice-oriented, sparked strong interest among students, and helped broaden their understanding of career prospects in the fields of sustainable development and climate policy.
