An Online Lecture on Financial Future and Social Protection Was Held at KazNU

On December 29, 2025, the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an online event titled “Financial Future: Pension Savings, Insurance, and Annuity Programs.” The event was organized within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 1 “No Poverty” and SDG 4 “Quality Education.”

The online lecture was conducted for the Almaty City Development Center and aimed to enhance financial literacy and raise public awareness of long-term financial planning opportunities, pension provision, and insurance protection mechanisms.

During the meeting, the speaker, c.e.s. Kassenova G.Y., from the Department of Finance and Accounting, presented current mechanisms of pension savings, highlighted the role of insurance in reducing financial risks, and discussed annuity programs as effective tools for ensuring social stability and protection against poverty in old age. Special attention was given to the importance of informed financial decision-making for improving quality of life and strengthening social resilience.

Such initiatives contribute to strengthening cooperation between the university and municipal and social institutions, as well as to fulfilling the university’s social mission.
