On December 29, 2025, faculty members of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Associate Professor A.K. Zhussupova, Acting Associate Professor S.M. Narenova, and Senior Lecturer R.N. Azhigulova organized an industrial excursion to the production facilities of Modern Chemistry and BioProject LLP for 11th-grade students of Specialized Lyceum № 92 named after Mahatma Gandhi and 8th-grade students of School-Lyceum № 207, within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 2 “Zero Hunger.”

The excursion was conducted under the guidance of Professor Mailyby Kapanovich Aldabergenov. During the visit, participants became acquainted with the complete production cycle of plant growth regulators and fertilizers used in agriculture to increase crop productivity and improve plant resilience.

The main stages of the technological process, quality and safety requirements, as well as environmental aspects of production were presented. Special attention was paid to the role of fertilizers in combating hunger, particularly their ability to supply plants with essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, thereby enhancing crop yields and increasing food availability for the population.

Modern agricultural technologies, including integrated mineral nutrition systems and fertilizers enriched with micronutrients, were highlighted as key tools for improving food quality, preventing hidden hunger caused by micronutrient deficiencies, and strengthening sustainable food systems. The students showed great interest, actively participated in discussions, asked questions, and gained practical insight into the real-world application of chemical knowledge in agriculture and industrial production.
