12 december, 2025

The Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a significant cultural event within the framework of UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. On December 12, 2025, second-year philosophy students visited the Tselinny Center of Contemporary Culture. This initiative was aimed at fostering spiritual and moral ideals among youth and enriching the educational process through practical cultural engagement.

During the visit, students explored contemporary expositions within the art space, gaining insights into the role of art in modern society. A major highlight of the program was the screening of Ardak Amirkulov’s historical epic about the fall of the ancient city of Otrar, recently restored in 4K format. This cinematic experience allowed students to engage with national history and philosophical narratives through the lens of modern technology. Furthermore, participants engaged in an insightful dialogue with the center’s staff, discussing current trends in contemporary art and cultural management.

This initiative reflects the university's active commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The event contributed to the development of students' critical thinking and enhanced their cultural awareness and civic responsibility. Such educational and cultural projects help strengthen the university's position in the international THE Impact Rankings. By nurturing moral values in the younger generation, this event supports the university's mission to train competitive and spiritually enriched specialists while strengthening social trust.
