Students and Faculty of the Higher School of Economics and Business Took Part in a Cleanup Event
The participants included:
• 229 students of the “Finance” and “Accounting and Auditing programs” from the Department of Finance and Accounting;
• 177 students of the “Marketing” and “Logistics” programs from the Department of Business Technologies;
• 43 students of the “Digital Economy” program from the Department of Economics;
• 49 students of the “Management” program from the Department of Management.
The students noted that taking part in the cleanup day helps them to get to know one another, strengthen friendships, and build team spirit. Advisors emphasized the importance of such activities for fostering corporate culture and instilling a sense of responsibility for shared spaces.
The cleanup day also carries significant social and environmental value — it fosters environmental awareness and promotes a careful attitude toward the university’s infrastructure. First-year students gained valuable experience in task distribution, teamwork, initiative, and leadership. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 – Good Health and Well-being, as the cleanup contributes to strengthening health and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The results of the day were clean and improved campus grounds, positive impressions, and a strong sense of belonging to university life.
The Higher School of Economics and Business makes a meaningful contribution to protecting the environment of Almaty and plays an important role in fostering a culture of sustainable development by uniting students and faculty around shared values.
