The Intellectual Competition “The World of Abai” Was Held

On November 26, 2025, the Republican intellectual competition titled “The World of Abai” was held at the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was jointly organized by the A. Baitursynuly Department of Kazakh Linguistics, the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, and the Abai Research Institute.

Students from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Sh. Yessenov Caspian University of Technologies and Engineering, Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, and Suleyman Demirel University took part in the competition.

The jury panel included Törегелді Rakhmanberdiuly Tuyakbay, Associate Professor of the Abai Research Institute at Al-Farabi KazNU; Karlygash Nurmukhametova, Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages at K. Satpayev Kazakh National Research Technical University and Candidate of Philological Sciences; as well as Zhubai Orynai, Associate Professor of Al-Farabi KazNU and Candidate of Philological Sciences—scholars who have made significant contributions to Abai studies.

The competition consisted of four rounds. As a result, the “Zhylу Zhurek” team from Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University won first place, the “Talap” team from Suleyman Demirel University took second place, and the “Alash Ainasy” team from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University secured third place.

At the end of the event, all participants were awarded cash prizes and valuable books.
