The Rector has set new tasks for the Faculty of Medicine

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev got acquainted with the activities of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare and held a meeting with the teaching staff.

The rector examined the results of the renovation work in the faculty building, and also got acquainted with the new modern educational and laboratory medical equipment. These devices contribute to the development of students' practical skills and improve the quality of training for future medical professionals.

The total area of the building is 5 700 square meters. There are laboratory and practical classrooms, as well as classrooms. The Faculty of Medicine and Public Health was officially opened in 2015. Having started its activity on the basis of three departments, today the faculty unites 10 departments and is steadily developing. Currently, the faculty has about 4 000 students. In terms of the number of publications in international scientific journals, faculty members of the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health occupy leading positions.

Then Zhanseit Tuimebayev held a meeting with veterans of the faculty, scientists and students, during which he shared his plans for the future.

"Despite its relatively short history, the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare is achieving high results. However, we cannot stop there – it is necessary to implement large-scale projects. As part of the second stage of the KazNU campus development, a university clinic will be built. Students will be able to study and practice in the 27 000 square meter building. In addition, a new dormitory with 1,000 beds will be put into operation for students of the faculty",- said the rector.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the university awarded a number of veteran teachers and scientists of the faculty with letters of thanks.

During the meeting, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Alina Galeyeva and Vice-rector for Research and Innovation Margulan Ibraimov also spoke, noting the main achievements of the faculty in the field of science and educational programs.
