Huawei Holds Annual Huawei Annual Awarding Ceremony to Summarize the Year’s Achievements
Huawei held its annual Huawei Annual Awarding Ceremony, bringing together representatives from 48 universities across Kazakhstan, where Huawei ICT Academies are successfully operating. The event served as a key platform for summarizing the results of the year, honoring the best academies, faculty members, and students, as well as discussing future prospects for the development of ICT education in the country.
Distinguished guests of the ceremony included Dinara Rinatovna Shcheglova, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Aituganovich Ashkin, Chairman of the Board of JSC Science Fund, along with rectors and vice-rectors of leading higher education institutions of Kazakhstan.
During the ceremonial part of the event, Dinara Shcheglova presented letters of appreciation to Huawei for its significant contribution to the implementation of the national educational initiative AI-SANA, aimed at developing students’ competencies in the field of artificial intelligence. As part of this initiative, Huawei localized three artificial intelligence courses, translated them into the Kazakh language, and provided free access to training through the Huawei Talent Online platform.
One of the central highlights of the ceremony was the award presentation to participants of the national final of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026. Students competed in the Network, Cloud, and Computing tracks, demonstrating a high level of practical skills in working with modern digital technologies. In the Cloud category, the winners were Ziani Louay, Mereke Nurai (KBTU), and Arailym Amangeldikyzy (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University), confirming the strong level of training of Kazakhstani students.
Special recognition was awarded to Yeskendyr Ashimov, who received the Instructor of the Year award for his high level of student preparation, effective integration of Huawei courses into the educational process, and active promotion of ICT disciplines at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
As a result of the year’s achievements, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was included among the best universities and received the prestigious Best Performed University 2025 award, reaffirming its leading position in the field of ICT education and international cooperation.
