The 92nd Anniversary of the University Celebrated at the Faculty of Physics and Technology. SDG 17
On 15 January 2026, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 92nd anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology. The event took place in the Dean’s Conference Hall and brought together the faculty leadership, academic staff, leading scientists, and researchers. The programme featured video presentations highlighting the key achievements of KazNU and the Faculty of Physics and Technology, as well as ongoing infrastructure projects, including the modernization of academic buildings and dormitories and the implementation of solar energy systems.
The welcoming address was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor N. A. Beisen, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, who emphasized the strategic role of the Faculty of Physics and Technology in advancing science, engineering technologies, and the training of highly qualified specialists. Numerous historical milestones and outstanding achievements of the faculty’s alumni were also highlighted. In their speeches, heads of departments and directors of institutes underlined the collective contribution to strengthening the university’s scientific potential and expanding international cooperation.

Special attention during the event was given to the recognition of academic and research achievements. Laureates of national and honorary awards were acknowledged, including recipients of the K. I. Satpayev Prize for Outstanding Scientific Research in 2025, state scholarship holders for talented young scientists, as well as winners of the nominations “Best Researcher of the Year” and “Best University Lecturer”.
An important part of the programme following the ceremonial session was a campus tour for the academic staff. The tour included visits to the Supercomputing Center, Farabi Hub, the Robotics Center, and the Earth Remote Sensing Center, clearly demonstrating the integration of science, education, and innovation within KazNU’s educational ecosystem.

The event reflects the contribution of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, as one of the first faculties established at the university, to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 17 – “Partnerships for the Goals”, fully aligning with the strategic priorities of KazNU as a leading research university in the region.

The 92nd anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University once again confirmed the continuity of its academic traditions, its commitment to sustainable development, and its aspiration to strengthen its position in both the national and international academic arena.
