KazNU has opened an innovation center for the development of unmanned aircraft

An innovation Center for the development of unmanned aircraft has opened at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The project was launched as part of a mutually beneficial cooperation between KazNU and Aerial Solutions LLP.

The new scientific and innovation center plans to develop models of domestic unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), create educational and production laboratories and a testing ground, as well as implement dual education and certification programs. In addition, research and development work will be carried out with the participation of students and teachers, and unmanned aerial vehicles will be manufactured.

At the same time, the center's activities include the introduction of drones and services to domestic and international markets, support and commercialization of innovative startups. The implementation of the project will strengthen the country's digital infrastructure and give a significant impetus to the implementation of Kazakhstan's state strategy in the field of civil unmanned aircraft.

The opening ceremony was attended by: Chairman of the Management BoardKazNU Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev, General Director of the Aviation Training Center of Aerial Solutions LLP Perizat Kudaibergenova, Head of the Department for the Development and Application of Unmanned Aircraft Systems of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Isa Teimurazuly, Head of the Main Command Center of the Air Force of the Air Defense Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saken Rustemov, Head of the Department of the Academy of National Security Artur Imashev, Director of the Licensing Department Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan Adilzhan Sultanov, renowned scientists and faculty.

Opening the meeting, KazNU Head Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that the launch of the center is a historic event of particular importance for the technological development of Kazakhstan.

"At the first meeting of the Council for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed: "Our competitiveness and sovereignty as a nation directly depend on how we use this technology. Every specialist should be proficient in digital skills and be able to effectively use the capabilities of artificial intelligence in the process of work." The center provides extensive opportunities for the implementation of large-scale scientific projects, the creation and assembly of modern drones, the training of qualified specialists and internships for students. The drones created here will be effectively used in various sectors of the economy",- said the rector.

In turn, Perizat Kudaibergenova, General Director of the Aviation Training Center of Aerial Solutions LLP, emphasized the importance of the new center: "The creation of an Innovative Center for the Development of unmanned Aircraft at KazNU has combined science, education and modern unmanned technologies to train specialists according to international standards. Thanks to its strong academic base, the university provides high-quality practical training, contributing to the development of industry, agriculture and digital monitoring. This initiative opens up new horizons for young professionals and makes a significant contribution to the promotion of domestic aviation projects at the global level",- said the head of the company.

Saken Rustemov, Head of the Main Command Center of the Air Force of the Air Defense Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also congratulated those present on the opening of the new center, wishing success in its future activities. "We hope for fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces with the Innovative Center for the Development of Unmanned Aircraft at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which will make a significant contribution to the development of the air transport sector. At the end of the event, the participants were shown the modern equipment and devices of the center, as well as provided with information about their main functionality and tasks.
