Preliminary defenses of doctoral students took place at the Department of Chemical Physics and Materials Science
In January 2026, two doctoral pre-defenses were held at the department. The pre-defenses were conducted within the doctoral programs 8D07113 – “Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology in Chemistry” and 8D07103 – “Chemical Technology of Explosives and Pyrotechnic Materials.”
The doctoral candidates who successfully passed the pre-defenses were Madina Yerzhanovna Suleimenova and Zhansaya Beksultanqyzy Beksultan.
The supervisors of M. Suleimenova are PhD, Associate Professor Zhandos T. Tauanov (Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University) and PhD Anna Bogush (UK. Coventry University).
The supervisors of Zh. Beksultan are PhD (Chem.), Professor Marat I. Tulepov (Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University) and PhD, Professor Ruiqi Shen (People’s Republic of China, Nanjing University of Science and Technology).
The pre-defenses included presentation of key research results and constructive feedback from supervisors and reviewers.
