A Winter Recreational Tour for International Students Organized within the SDGs Framework

On the initiative of Zh.Zh. Yermekova, dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business organized a special recreational tour for international students residing in Dormitory No.16 who did not return to their home countries during the winter holidays (January 1–19, 2026).

The event was held within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 – “Good Health and Well-being” and SDG 4 – “Quality Education.” The main objective of the tour was to ensure meaningful leisure time, promote health and well-being, enhance students’ physical, intellectual, and emotional development, and provide spiritual and educational insights into the past and future of Independent Kazakhstan.

The organization of the event was actively supported by senior advisors of the Higher School of Economics and Business D.R. Turarov, A.Zh. Kukiev, A.A. Boranbay, M.D. Sharapieva, Deputy Dean for Social and Educational Affairs I.U. Kuliev, and Research Professor A.Z. Nurmaganbetova.

As part of the program, international students visited the Central Botanical Garden of Almaty, the A. Kasteev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Almaty Museum of Arts, city libraries, and the historical personalities corner of the Higher School of Economics and Business.

At the end of the tour, international students expressed their sincere gratitude to the organizers, emphasizing the educational value and positive impact of the initiative.
