SDG-14: A Winter School for Curators “Developing Student Resilience” Was Organized at KazNU

15 january, 2026

On January 15, 2026, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a Winter School for academic curators on the topic “Prevention of Suicidal Behavior among Students and Development of Resilience,” organized by the Department of Social Development and the Department of General and Applied Psychology.

The event was attended by deputy deans for educational affairs, academic group curators, faculty members, and university psychologists.

During the Winter School, practical workshops were conducted aimed at enhancing students’ resilience, developing stress resistance skills, and fostering effective coping strategies.

As part of the program, Elmira Kengeskyzy Kalymbetova, Sandugash Kansarkyzy Kudaibergenova, and Zukhra Maratkyzy Sadvakasova shared practical guidance with curators on supporting students in stressful and crisis situations, providing initial psychological assistance, and applying appropriate action algorithms.

The program was developed based on the results of scientific research and grant-funded projects implemented in the field of prevention of auto-destructive behavior and the study of negative emotional states.
