We wish the jubilee celebrant many new creative and personal achievements
On January 12, we celebrated an important date in our lives – the 70th anniversary of our esteemed Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, Director of the Center for Psychological Technologies and Innovations Fatima Sagimbekovna Tashimova. This man has devoted his life to the study of the human mind and behavior. Her work helps people better understand themselves and others, solve problems, and become happier.
After graduating from high school in Zaisan, East Kazakhstan region, a young girl wanted to become a doctor or a child psychologist, she came to Almaty and entered the institute. The path to science was long and difficult – she was a trainee at the V.Lenin Moscow State Pedagogical Institute, a graduate student at the Research Institute of General and Pedagogical Psychology of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (Moscow) and the Research Institute of General Adult Education (Leningrad), Tallinn University (Estonia). Only in 1995, under the leadership of academician H.J. Liimets (Estonia) and Academician Y.N.Kulyutkin (Russia) Fatima Sagimbekovna defended her PhD thesis "The dependence of the meaning of students' teaching on the peculiarities of their lifestyle" in two specialties: 19.00.01 – General psychology, personality psychology, history of psychology, ethnopsychology and 19.00.07 – Age and educational psychology. As the applicant noted: "It was found that any activity is multifunctional and everything depends on which system of activities is decisive. Using the example of the meaning of educational activity, it was shown how the meaning of learning changes depending on different systems of activities that determine the way of life".
Since 1998, F.S. Tashimova, at the invitation of the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, N.A. Loginova, joined the al-Farabi Kazakh National University and continued her research in the field of psychology of meaning formation. She adapted al-Farabi's teaching about the subject as a microcosm into modern personality psychology. Semantic formation was considered from the point of view of co-creation of different roles of the personality of the inner world of man, the peculiarities of human self-regulation were revealed. In his doctoral dissertation "Subjective Determination of meanings" (2010), self-regulation was considered as a correlation between coping mechanisms and psychological protection, which also reflected al-Farabi's teaching about dimensionality in the process of choice. She has developed an author's practice-oriented methodology of integrative psychology. Subsequently, for her work on the psychology of meaning formation, F.S. Tashimova became a laureate of the Y.M.Altynsarina (2013).
During her time at our university, Fatima Sagimbekovna was twice the head of the departments of psychology: general psychology in 2003-2004, general and ethnic psychology in 2011-2012. She contributed to the development of a practice-oriented field of psychology, the diagnostic activity of a psychologist, training work with students and trainees, clients. In 2012, she initiated and organized the Center for Psychological Technologies and Innovations. The Center holds Winter and Summer psychological schools, having established a good tradition of continuous self-improvement of professional activity of psychologists. The Center has become a platform for the exchange of experience and skills of psychologists; unites creative people, professional psychologists, practitioners, teachers; helps to promote integrative psychology in the consultative practice of helping, preserving and restoring mental health and supporting people.
