Science journalism will be a priority
Member of the Board of KazNU, Vice–Rector for Research and Innovation Margulan Ibraimov held a meeting with the Faculty of Journalism. During the meeting, issues related to the implementation of the university's strategic objectives, improving performance in international rankings, as well as strengthening the scientific potential of the faculty were discussed.
The meeting was opened by Kanat Auesbai, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, outlining the main ongoing research projects and priority areas of the faculty's development. The head of the Faculty noted the increase in the number of scientific publications in recent years and stressed that the priority of further work would be to improve the quality of scientific research in accordance with international standards.

In turn, Margulan Ibraimov emphasized the importance of developing scientific journalism. "Science journalism is an important tool for communicating scientific achievements to a wide audience in a clear language. To advance science, first of all, we need high-quality personnel. The requirements for admission to master's and doctoral studies will be tightened, and this area will be under strict control. After all, undergraduates and doctoral students are the main force shaping the scientific potential of the university", said the vice–rector.

In addition, Margulan Kasenovich drew attention to the relevance of such modern scientific areas as digital journalism, information security and data journalism. He instructed to intensify joint research with foreign scientists with a high Hirsch index, as well as strengthen the practice of joint publications in international journals and mutual citation.

During the meeting, Kuanysh Tastambek, Director of the Department of Science, also made a presentation, presenting the possibilities and requirements for publishing articles in foreign highly rated scientific publications. In his speech, he noted the advantages of integrating science with industry and collaborating with practitioners.

At the end of the meeting, academic teachers and heads of departments of the faculty asked their questions and discussed plans for further scientific work. The participants exchanged experiences and considered ways to develop science, including bringing the scientific direction of the Faculty of Journalism to a new level.
