Electoral Principles as the Foundation of Voter Trust

Today, on January 27, 2026, at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, on the initiative of Professor of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, Chairperson of Polling Station No. 259 of the KazNU campus, Gulnar Tuleukhadironna Aigarinova, a meeting was held in honor of the International Day of Elections.

The meeting brought together law students and the Chairperson of the Bostandyk District Territorial Election Commission, Sholpan Rysbekovna Kaliaskarova, on the topic “Electoral Principles as the Foundation of Voter Trust”.

During the meeting, students were informed that the electoral process is conducted based on the principles of the rule of law, independence, transparency, inclusiveness, professionalism, and collegiality of election commissions.

The meeting was held at a high level in the format of questions, answers, and discussion. Students received answers to many questions related to the conduct of elections and discussed mechanisms for exercising their right to secret voting.

Among the students were those who had not previously participated in voting, as their electoral rights had only recently come into effect. They stated that they would definitely participate in the upcoming elections and referendums.
