Spring Intake PhD Students Participate in Orientation Week. SDG 4
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is hosting an Orientation Week for Spring Intake PhD students, aimed at familiarizing early-career researchers with key aspects of high-level research training, the regulatory framework of doctoral studies, international opportunities, and the principles of academic ethics.
As part of the program, Svetlana Peshaya, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Physics and Technology for Scientific Innovation and International Relations, delivered a presentation entitled “Doctoral Studies at KazNU: Key Documents, International Opportunities, and Academic Mobility.” In her talk, she addressed the organization of doctoral research activities, participation in international educational and research programs, and emphasized the importance of academic mobility and publication activity in leading international scientific databases.
The Orientation Week contributes to the development of sustainable research skills among doctoral students, fosters international cooperation, and facilitates their integration into the global academic community. These objectives are directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 4 – Quality Education.

The Orientation Week represents an important stage in the professional development of PhD students and is aimed at enhancing the quality of scientific research and strengthening the University’s overall research potential.
