Open Lecture: “Students’ Rights and Responsibilities”
At the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an open lesson titled “Rights and Responsibilities of Students” was conducted for students of the Physics 111–115 groups under the guidance of Ayazhan Orazymbet.
The event was organized with the aim of strengthening students’ awareness of their academic rights and responsibilities within the university environment. During the session, participants were introduced to the fundamental principles regulating student life, including academic integrity, responsibility, mutual respect, and adherence to university policies. Special attention was given to the importance of maintaining ethical standards in the educational process and fostering a culture of honesty and accountability.
The open lesson format encouraged active participation and meaningful discussion among students. In addition to theoretical explanations, the session incorporated interactive elements such as quest-based tasks, riddle questions, and collective analysis of correct answers. These activities stimulated critical thinking, increased engagement, and created a dynamic educational atmosphere. By combining informative content with interactive methods, the organizers ensured that students not only received knowledge but also developed a deeper understanding of its practical significance.
The discussion also emphasized the role of students as responsible members of the academic community. Participants reflected on their contribution to maintaining a positive educational environment and explored ways to enhance communication, cooperation, and mutual support within their groups. The open dialogue format provided students with the opportunity to express their opinions, ask questions, and share personal experiences related to academic life.
This initiative directly contributes to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) – Quality Education. SDG 4 aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. By increasing legal literacy, strengthening awareness of rights and responsibilities, and promoting academic integrity, the university fosters a supportive and transparent educational environment that empowers students to succeed academically and personally.
