January 24 — International Day of Education. Education as the Golden Foundation of Medicine

As part of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal No. 4, “Quality Education,” a joint event titled “January 24 — International Day of Education” was held with the participation of faculty members of the Department of Fundamental Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare and first-year students (Kazakh group OM 25-01) of the specialty 6B10114 “Medicine.” The students delivered three presentations on higher education and its role in the development of the state. Each presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session, during which students actively participated and raised relevant and timely questions.

January 24 is the International Day of Education, proclaimed by UNESCO. In connection with this significant date, the event was organized with the aim of fostering future physicians’ interest in professional education, encouraging young specialists to uphold academic integrity and engage in intellectual inquiry, and highlighting the importance of lifelong learning in modern medicine. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that a physician’s level of professional knowledge is directly linked to their moral responsibility.

The event was organized by faculty members of the department: T. Akhaeva, A. Rakhymzhan, A. Targynova, and N. Urnesh. Students of the Kazakh group OM 25-01 took an active part in the discussion.
