An Open Lecture on Digital Security and Personal Data Protection to Be Held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. SDG 4
An open lecture dedicated to issues of privacy, digital security, and personal data protection on the Internet will be held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event is organized within the framework of the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 4 “Quality Education.”
The lecture aims to foster students’ modern digital competencies, enhance their awareness in the field of information security, and promote a culture of responsible behavior in the digital environment.
The lecture will address the reasons why the architecture of the Internet was not originally designed with user privacy in mind and how this has affected the contemporary digital ecosystem. Special attention will be given to the concept of metadata, the mechanisms of its collection by Internet service providers, governmental bodies, and corporations, as well as practical tools for personal data protection.
The lecture will be delivered by Elmurat Nigmatov, Head of the Russian-speaking community and Ambassador of NymVPN. NymVPN is an international company specializing in the development of solutions for ensuring privacy and security on the Internet. The company’s headquarters are located in Switzerland.
Following the lecture, a selection of motivated and interested students is planned for further participation in educational programs and professional development courses implemented with the involvement of company representatives, contributing to the development of students’ professional and digital competencies.
