A doctoral student of the Department of Chinese Studies conducted a seminar on teaching Chinese for specific purposes.
On February 4, 2026, the Department of Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies hosted a scientific seminar organized by Chen Jiaxu, a first-year PhD student in Foreign Philology.
The seminar provided a detailed overview of the features and methodology of teaching Chinese for specific purposes in Almaty, and participants shared experiences and engaged in discussions on the latest approaches to foreign language education.
The seminar was attended by Kairanbayev N.S., Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies for Scientific-Innovative Activities and International Relations, faculty members, master’s students, and PhD candidates. Participants discussed the latest methodological developments and shared practical recommendations for teaching foreign languages.
The main goal of the seminar was to enhance the teaching of Chinese for specific purposes and to encourage students and young scholars to engage in scientific research. The event was organized in accordance with the university’s strategy for developing international cooperation and scientific activity.
