The Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) invites you to participate in the “Central Asia and the EU: Strategic Partnership, Mutual Transformation and Global Trends” International Research-to-Practice Conference in Memory of Professor M.Sh.Gubaidullina. This year would have marked the 70th birthday of Prof. Gubaidullina. The upcoming event will celebrate the legacy of the outstanding Kazakhstan’s scholar – a brilliant educator, mentor, and person of exceptional integrity.
Mara Shaukatovna Gubaidullina was a Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at the Department of International Relations and World Economy, and Director of the Center for German Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She was a well-known scholar in the field of international relations and political science both in Kazakhstan and abroad, and made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of the Faculty of International Relations at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Professor Gubaidullina pioneered a new academic field in Kazakhstan – German Studies and actively maintained extensive links with leading scientific, research, and educational institutions in Europe, Asia, and the countries of Central Asia.
The conference will discuss key parameters of the development of relations between Central Asia and the European Union in the context of the transformation of the contemporary system of international relations, as well as the most important areas of interaction, including politics, security, economy, energy, climate and other fields.
Representatives of the expert and academic community, diplomatic missions, public and international organizations accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, government institutions, and mass media are invited to participate in the conference.
Venue: 95, Karasay batyr Street, Faculty of International Relations, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
