5 february, 2026

A mentoring session was held in the dormitory with students of Group 102 majoring in Kazakh Philology on the topic “The Professional Path of a Future Philologist: Education, Work, and Career” within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

The main purpose of the event was to introduce future philologists to opportunities in the labor market, explain the value of decent work, and support students in shaping their professional orientation. Special attention was also paid to the role of young people in contributing to sustainable economic growth.

During the session, the importance of education in professional development, continuous self-improvement, labor culture, and professional responsibility were discussed. It was emphasized that the scope of professional activities for philologists has significantly expanded in modern society. Graduates of Kazakh Philology can work not only in education and academia but also in mass media, publishing and editorial fields, translation, public service, cultural institutions, as well as in the digital sphere (content manager, SMM specialist, language expert, text editor).

The concept of decent work was thoroughly explained, highlighting the importance of honest labor, professional competence, and contributing to society. It was noted that training educated and competitive specialists is a key factor in achieving sustainable economic growth.

The mentoring session was conducted in an open discussion format. Students of Group 102 shared their views, asked questions about their future professions, and discussed career plans. Such events help students develop a conscious attitude toward work, clarify career goals, and strive for decent employment in the future.
