University Holds Academic Hearings on the Draft New Constitution

The university hosted another round of academic hearings devoted to the discussion of the draft new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Participants included Mazhilis deputies, judges, representatives of state bodies, members of the academic community, leading legal scholars, practicing lawyers, and constitutional law experts.  



The hearings were opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Ualikhan Akhatov. The discussion focused on strengthening the constitutional foundations of state power, expanding guarantees of human rights and freedoms, and enhancing the role of legal institutions in today’s socio political context.  



Speakers included Mazhilis deputies Unzila Shapak, Erlan Sairov, and Yermurat Bapi. 
Presentations were also delivered by Doctor of Law Professor Alua Ibraeva, Candidate of Law Professor Leila Kultemirova, Candidate of Law Associate Professor Arkhat Abikenov, PhD Daulet Ryskaliev and Judge of the Alatau District Court of Almaty Talgat Davletniyazov.  



As a result, expert proposals and analytical materials were compiled. They are planned to be used in further research and analytical work, expert advisory activities, and educational initiatives, as well as in studies on constitutional law and public administration.
