Academic Hearings with the Participation of Members of Parliament Held at Al-Farabi KazNU

On February 6, 2026, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted academic hearings dedicated to the draft of the new Constitution, with the participation of members of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and prominent legal scholars.

The academic hearings focused on strengthening the constitutional foundations of the state system of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ensuring the protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as discussing the socio-ideological significance of the new Constitution draft. During the event, industry experts and representatives of the legal academic community actively exchanged views.

In their speeches, Mazhilis deputies Unzila Shapak, Yermurat Bapi, and Erlan Sairov emphasized that the proposed amendments are aimed at strengthening civil society and promoting legal awareness. Invited experts and representatives of state authorities conducted a comprehensive analysis of each provision of the draft Constitution, presenting proposals and important initiatives.

This significant political and academic event was attended by the Head of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi KazNU, Doctor of Law, Professor G.A. Kuanaliуeva, as well as the department’s faculty members. Within the framework of the hearings, the department’s scholars expressed their professional views on the legal mechanisms of the draft Constitution and their impact on legal practice, actively engaging in discussions.
