9 february, 2026
09. 02. In 2026, a doctor PhD of the 2nd year of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Abilganiev Daryn held an off-audit lecture for students of the gymnasium school No. 53 of the Talgar district "The importance of the Almaty reserve in the preservation of biodiversity" within the framework of SDG 15 - Preservation of terrestrial ecosystems. Ensuring the environmental safety of the city of Almaty today is one of the pressing scientific and practical issues. He noted the contribution of the Almaty State Nature Reserve to the ecological stability of the city by preserving land ecosystems. It is aimed at a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the natural ecosystems of the mountainous area of the Northern Tien Shan on the environmental safety of the Almaty metropolis.
The Almaty State Nature Reserve, as the main territory for the conservation of biological diversity, as well as the habitat of rare and endangered animals and plants, is a natural "protective belt" that provides important ecosystems for the city (clean air, formation of water resources, climate regulation, prevention of natural threats).
During the lecture, it was noted that the preservation of terrestrial ecosystems is directly related to the environmental safety of the city of Almaty and the strategic importance of specially protected natural areas (SPNA) for the metropolis.
