A SCIENTIFIC MONOGRAPH PRESENTED TO THE KAZNU LIBRARY
The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University continues its systematic efforts to strengthen the integration of science and education.
09.02.2026. Dr. Tursynkul Amankeldiyevna Bazarbayeva, Head of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development and Leader of Subprogram 4 of the Scientific and Technical Program BR21882122 “Sustainable Development of Natural-Economic and Socio-Economic Systems of Western Kazakhstan in the Context of Green Development: Comprehensive Analysis, Concept, Forecast Assessment and Scenarios,” officially presented a scientific monograph prepared within the framework of the project to Ms. Zhadira Aydyngalievna Arekenova, Director of the Scientific Library of Al-Farabi KazNU.
The monograph “Assessment of Soil Contamination in Western Kazakhstan with Heavy Metals and Petroleum Products as a Result of Industrial Activities” provides a comprehensive analysis of soil pollution in the region within the context of sustainable development of natural and socio-economic systems. Based on the principles of green development, it presents scientific assessments, conceptual frameworks, forecast evaluations, and development scenarios.This publication has enriched the university’s scientific collection and will serve as a valuable academic and methodological resource for students, master’s and doctoral candidates, and researchers in the fields of sustainable development, regional ecology, and rational natural resource management.
The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences will continue its research activities aimed at addressing pressing issues of green development and regional sustainability.
