«Winter School - 2026» - a project aimed at developing new professional competencies
SDG-3 From February 3 to 13, the Winter School titled «Media and Communication in Higher Education: Teaching, Learning, and Digital Transformation» was launched in Hall No. 409 of the Al-Farabi Scientific Library.
The event was moderated by Kanat Auesbay, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, and Aigerim Alzhanova, Head of the Department of Print and Electronic Media. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Alina Galiyeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Member of the Board of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as well as by Vlastimil Samek, Representative of the United Nations Department of Global Communications and Head of the UN Information Bureau in Kazakhstan.
Among the speakers were Assel Karaulova, President of the Kazakhstan Press Club, Aina Zadabek, Chair of the Management Board of JSC «Qazcontent», Asyl Ulanuly, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper Vecherniy Almaty, and Erzhan Kalymbayuly, General Director of the Alatau Aqparat media holding. Tatyana Kapyrina, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Philology at the State Social and Humanitarian University (Kolomna, Russian Federation), joined the event online with a lecture entitled «Mastery of Public Speaking: The Art of Literary Expression».
On the second day, the Winter School continued on the Zoom platform. Lectures were delivered by Azel Zhanibek, PR Manager and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Print and Electronic Media «Mass Media and Corporate Social Responsibility», Zhadyra Akkaiyr, UX Localization Specialist at «Dar Tech» and journalist «Kazakh UX: Adapting Interface Translation for Better Usability», PhD Aikerim Alimzhanova «Main Forms of Contemporary Communication and the Model of Semiotic Analysis», Akzharkyn Kydyrkhanova, Editor-in-Chief of Raiym Media «Science Topics in Online Media: Balancing Editorial Responsibility and Audience Demand», and Senior Lecturer Assel Alim «Constructive-Experimental Examples in the Course ‘Research Methods».
