KazNU noted achievements of women scientists
A special scientific event dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science was organized at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The meeting brought together scientists, teachers and young researchers working in various fields of the educational institution.
The role of women in the development of science and education at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is special. Women make up 65% of the total number of university staff. 1,724 female employees contribute to the sustainable development of the university. There are 347 doctors of sciences, 572 candidates of Sciences and 1 academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan among them.
The event was opened by Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev, noting that women scientists of the university work tirelessly for the benefit of the development of national science.
"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted: "Thanks to the systematic support of the state, the role of women in the economy, education, science, culture, politics and public activities is increasing every year". KazNU has created all favorable conditions for women scientists to engage in science. The heads of 146 scientific projects implemented within the framework of grant, targeted financing, "Жас ғалым" programs and projects for young scientists are women. This shows the high potential of women's scientific leadership at the university",- said the rector.
At the end of the speech, the head of the university awarded a number of researchers with the medal "Yeren yenbegi ushin" (For labor distinction). In addition, Karlygash Zhumagulova was awarded "For high publication activity and h-index", Natalia Glushkova – "For high citation of scientific publications", Madina Mansurova – "A leading leader who successfully implemented a scientific project", Gulmira Abdirayimova – "The best scientific consultant", Irina Savitskaya – "Breakthrough of the Year in science", Leyla Bimendieva – "For her work in the development and promotion of the university's scientific journal", Aliya Aktymbaeva – "For her special contribution to attracting investments", Akerke Abagan – "For her contribution to strengthening international scientific cooperation", Zaure Rakisheva – "For his contribution to the development of the University's scientific school".
The meeting was attended by Doctor of Law, Professor Alua Ibraeva and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, young scientist Aizhamal Bayseitova, who presented reports on the development of Russian science.
