Discussion of constitutional modernization in the context of the UN SDG-16 "Peace, justice and strong institutions" at Al-Farabi KazNU
On February 9, 2026, a discussion on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at a meeting of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Al-Farabi KazNU. Participants examined constitutional modernization as a factor in the sustainable development of the state in the context of digitalization and the increasing complexity of social relations. It was noted that the Basic Law must ensure a balance between innovative development, the protection of human rights and freedoms, and the responsibility of public authorities. The discussion emphasized the importance of an evolutionary update of constitutional norms, strengthening the principles of the rule of law, expanding citizen participation, and enhancing the accountability of government institutions. The discussion was academic in nature and contributed to the development of a legal culture and civic responsibility.
