Working Meeting of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Current Issues in the Development of Science and Higher Education

On February 12, 2026, the faculty members of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University participated in a working meeting organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, key issues related to the implementation of state programs in the field of science and higher education were discussed, including the development of innovation activities, grant and program-targeted funding, commercialization of research results, international educational initiatives (“Study in Kazakhstan” and cooperation with Google in education), as well as the “Bolashak” and “Scientific Internships” programs and the ETS project.

The participation of the faculty members provided valuable insights into the priorities of the national science and higher education policy, mechanisms of competitive funding, and opportunities for expanding international cooperation, which are essential for the further development of the Faculty’s research and educational activities.
