Scientific Development Issues Discussed at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences

On February 5, 2026, the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences held a working meeting between its academic staff and researchers and representatives of the Department of Research and Innovation and the Center for Strategic Development. The meeting was organized to enhance the faculty’s research activities, strengthen its scientific capacity, and clarify strategic development priorities.

During the meeting, participants discussed the faculty’s research potential, publication performance, ongoing projects funded through grant and program-targeted mechanisms, and the strategic roadmap for further scientific development. Particular attention was given to strengthening research infrastructure, supporting early-career researchers, expanding international cooperation, promoting the commercialization of research outcomes, and improving institutional performance indicators.

Representatives of the Department of Research and Innovation presented information on competitive funding mechanisms, project support procedures, and measures aimed at improving the quality of grant applications. The Center for Strategic Development highlighted key performance indicators and the faculty’s role in implementing the university’s medium-term development strategy.

The meeting was conducted in an open dialogue format, allowing faculty members and researchers to raise relevant questions and receive detailed explanations and methodological guidance. The discussion contributed to strengthening interdepartmental collaboration and enhancing the systematic organization of research activities at the faculty level.
