KazNU hosted a museum day titled “Kazakhstan's Scientific Heritage: From the Past to the Future” as part of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).
As part of pedagogical practice and in alignment with SDG-4, on February 10, 2026, first-year doctoral students of the 8D05102 “Biomedicine” program at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, under the guidance of Professor N.T. Ablaikhanova, Candidate of Biological Sciences, of the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience, together with PhD, Senior Research Fellow A.E. Yesenbekova, organized and conducted a museum-based scientific and educational event at the Museum of the Academy of Sciences entitled “Kazakhstan's Scientific Heritage: From the Past to the Future”.
The event aimed to promote the achievements of domestic science, preserve Kazakhstan’s scientific heritage, and foster research thinking among master’s and doctoral students.
During the event, staff members of the Museum of the Academy of Sciences introduced participants to exhibits dedicated to the history of science in Kazakhstan, presented unique archival materials, and highlighted the contributions of Kazakhstani scientists to global scientific development.

The program included the following activities:
- A thematic tour of the Museum’s exhibition dedicated to the development of biological and biotechnological research in Kazakhstan;
- A short lecture on the contributions of Kazakhstani scientists to global science and current trends in biological research;
- A presentation of archival materials, scientific publications, and exhibits demonstrating the continuity of scientific schools;
- A discussion session for master’s and doctoral students on the prospects for scientific research and innovation in biotechnology.
The event was attended by first-year doctoral students majoring in 8D05102 “Biomedicine” and master’s students majoring in 7M05102 “Biomedicine” from the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event made a significant contribution to the development of scientific culture and increased interest in domestic science. Participants expanded their knowledge of Kazakhstan’s scientific heritage and received practical recommendations for engaging in research activities.
Furthermore, the faculty established a new partnership with the Museum of the Academy of Sciences, confirmed through official communication.
