National symbols — the flag, the emblem, and the anthem — are the primary embodiments of Kazakhstan's independence, representing the history, culture, and solidarity of the people. The blue flag signifies peace and freedom, the emblem illustrates spiritual wealth and unity through the Shanyrak, and the anthem awakens the national spirit and confidence in the future.

The draft of the new Constitution places a high priority on state symbols. According to Article 37, every person is obliged to respect the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Defining their status and usage through constitutional law ensures their stability and strengthens the bond between the state and its citizens.
