An Open Day titled “Becoming a Lawyer – Choosing the Path of Justice” was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

On February 18, 2026, an Open Day titled “Becoming a Lawyer – Choosing the Path of Justice” was organized at a high level KazNU. The purpose of the event was to introduce school students to the specifics of the legal profession, provide career guidance, and promote the university’s educational opportunities. The event was organized by the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of the Faculty of Law.

The delegation from L.N. Tolstoy Secondary School of the Karasai District Department of Education of the Almaty Region participated in the event. The delegation included Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Nurakyn Ryspanbekov, Deputy Director for Educational Work Rakhymzhan Maripov, and senior school students.

Students from Gymnasium School No. 200, 207; Gymnasium School No. 174, and Gymnasium School No. 138 also actively participated and became acquainted with university life.

During the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Ualikhan Akhatov, delivered a welcoming speech highlighting the faculty’s academic programs, research achievements, and international cooperation. Professor Guldana Kuanaliyeva, Doctor of Law and Head of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, provided detailed information about modern trends in legal education and practice.

Special attention was given to the professor D.Baideldinov and his contribution to the development of legal science.

As part of the program, the renovated and modernized classrooms of the department were officially presented. The classrooms are equipped with modern interactive technologies.

The guests also visited the university’s supercomputer center, scientific library, and museum, where they learned about the university’s modern research infrastructure and history.

The Open Day increased students’ interest in the legal profession and played an important role in shaping their future career choices.
