Applications Open for the 11th Turkic World Documentary Film Festival

Applications have opened for the 11th Turkic World Documentary Film Festival, organized to preserve the cultural heritage of the Turkic World, pass it on to future generations, and promote it internationally. The final deadline for submissions is June 30, 2026.

Held for the 11th time this year, the festival aims to highlight the historical, cultural, and geographical richness of the Turkic World through documentary cinema. The festival will be organized under the theme “Deep-Rooted Culture, Strong Future,” emphasizing a strong connection between past and future.

Broad Participation

The festival will include participation from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Uzbekistan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, North Macedonia, and Turkmenistan. Autonomous republics and related Turkic communities such as Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Bashkortostan, Dagestan, Khakassia, Tuva, Yakutia, Gagauzia, and Crimea are also supporting the event. 

Numerous universities, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations contribute to the organization.

From Türkiye: Istanbul Üniversitesi, Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli Üniversitesi, Başkent Üniversitesi, Ankara Bilim Üniversitesi, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi, Gümüşhane Üniversitesi, Osmaniye Korkut Ata Üniversitesi, Amasya Üniversitesi, Karabük Üniversitesi, and Yozgat Bozok Üniversitesi;

From Azerbaijan: Bakı Dövlət Universiteti and Azerbaycan Medeniyet ve İnce Sanat Üniversitesi;

From Kazakhstan: Әл-Фараби атындағы Қазақ ұлттық университеті and Жүргенов атындағы Қазақ ұлттық өнер академиясы;

From Kyrgyzstan: Kırgızistan-Türkiye Manas Üniversitesi;

From North Macedonia: Amerikan Fon Üniversitesi;

From the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC): Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi;

From Uzbekistan: Taşkent Devlet Medeniyet ve Sanat Enstitüsü and Özbekistan Gazetecilik ve Kitle İletişim Üniversitesi are among the cooperating institutions.

The festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye (General Directorate of Cinema), TÜRKSOY, TİKA, YTB, and the Union of Municipalities of the Turkic World. Media partners include TRT Avaz, Türkmeneli TV, Kyrgyzstan ASIA TV, Kazakhstan EL ARNA TV, Bayrak Radio TV (TRNC), Mercan TV, BRTV, Rize Kaçkar TV, and Fırat TV.
