On February 13, 2026, KazNU lecturer and assistant professor of the Department of Economics, Aiman Erezhepova, participated in the program “Apta. Important” on the channel Qonaev MediaTV, discussing the topic “Referendum 2026: What Updates Await the Country?”
The interview covered issues of the country’s new economic development model in line with global economic trends. The discussion included development directions highlighted by President K.K. Tokayev: the main goal is to link economic growth with increasing citizens’ incomes and improving their quality of life. GDP growth should translate into real income growth for citizens (SDG 8.1).
Special attention was given to the digitalization of the economy and the implementation of artificial intelligence, which will serve as a basis for increasing labor productivity, developing export-oriented sectors, and ensuring sustainable economic growth. This aims to improve citizens’ welfare and enhance transparency and discipline in the economy (SDG 17.1).
In conclusion, the norms and objectives outlined in the draft of the new Constitution are expected to ensure high-quality economic growth and provide a strong impetus for the country’s development.
