20 february, 2026

On February 20, 2026, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature Saylauova Asem Sayatkyzy, together with third-year students majoring in “6B02312 — Russian as a Foreign Language,” conducted a curatorial hour devoted to issues of environmental culture, environmental cleanliness, and careful attitude toward the city within the framework of the “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative. Special attention was paid to the opinions of international students regarding cleanliness and order in the city of Almaty.

During the meeting, the students’ impressions of the city’s cleanliness and urban improvement, as well as their suggestions for improving the environmental situation, were discussed. The importance of each person’s personal responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and a comfortable urban environment was emphasized.

The curator, Saylauova A., spoke about the importance of maintaining order, respecting nature, and personal responsibility for the cleanliness of the city. Afterwards, international students shared their impressions. They noted that Almaty is a green and beautiful city with many parks; however, in some areas there is litter and an insufficient number of trash bins.

The students compared the situation with cities in their home countries and proposed ideas for improving environmental culture, such as installing additional containers and encouraging youth participation in environmental campaigns.

In conclusion, it was emphasized that the cleanliness of the city depends on every resident and guest. The curatorial hour took place in a friendly atmosphere and contributed to the development of environmental responsibility.
