On February 24, 2026, at the initiative of the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, an official meeting was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan. The delegation included Farid Shahbazly, Chairman of the “Young Reformers” Public Association and CEO of the Azerbaijani media group Editor.az, as well as Afsaladdin Aghalarov, Deputy Chairman of the “Young Reformers” Public Association and CEO of the Azxeber Media group, along with representatives of the organization.

The “Young Reformers” Public Association has been successfully operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan since 2005. Its primary objective is to promote active youth participation in reform processes initiated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as well as to support young people’s engagement in the country’s social, civic, and cultural life. Today, the organization brings together more than 9,500 active young members.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are developing at a high level, particularly in the areas of education and youth cooperation. Special attention was given to the role of such meetings in strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries, grounded in shared historical, cultural, and spiritual values.
