A meeting of students and faculty members with members of the National Coalition "For the People's Constitution of Fair and Progressive Kazakhstan!" was held at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The delegation also included representatives of the National Coalition of Almaty: Deputy of the Maslikhat Saltanat Serikova, Chairman of the Bostandyk district branch of the AMANAT party Tynyshkali Saben, director of the Mental Health Center Sapar Rakhmensheev and Chairman of the NGO "Society of the Disabled of Almaty" Ulan Inkarbekov.

Deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali made a speech at the event. He emphasized that the new Constitution reflects the foundations of law and order, education, science and innovation, as well as fundamental values, freedoms and principles that determine the development of our society and the well-being of every person.

"KazNU scientists led by Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev actively participated in the development of the document. The proposals received through social networks and the eGov system have been carefully studied and taken into account",- the deputy said.
On behalf of the university management, Yerkin Duissenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board and First Vice–Rector of KazNU, welcomed the participants of the meeting. In his speech, he noted that the new draft Constitution is the fruit of the work of a large number of scientists, legal practitioners, theorists, economists, sociologists, linguists, and deputies. "This is a collective effort that has been submitted for public discussion. You should know that the Constitution has no authors. The Basic Law has one author – the people of Kazakhstan. Therefore, when you come to the polling stations to vote, you will become its co–authors, having voted for the Constitution",- the vice-rector emphasized.

The main purpose of the meeting was to clarify the key provisions of the draft new Constitution and discuss the essence of large-scale political transformations. During the open dialogue, the speakers elaborated on how the proposed changes would affect the public administration system and strengthen the rule of law. It was emphasized that the reforms are primarily aimed at strengthening the protection of human rights and ensuring the safety of every citizen.

The meeting participants discussed not only political aspects, but also issues related to the development of science and education. KazNU students showed high activity, asking questions about the prospects of youth organizations' participation in the socio-political life of the country. The members of the coalition noted that it is students who are the driving force behind modernization and the generator of new ideas necessary for the progressive development of society.
