On February 20, 2026, a cultural and educational meeting for students titled “National Ornament as a Spiritual Code” was organized at the university. The honored guest of the event was Erlan Kozhabayev, a researcher of national decorative and applied arts and a promoter of ornament culture.

The main purpose of the meeting was to introduce students to the historical foundations of Kazakh ornament, its symbolic meaning, and its application in contemporary art and design. In his speech, Erlan Kozhabayev emphasized that national ornament is not merely a decorative element, but an important artistic system reflecting the worldview, spiritual values, and cultural memory of the people.

During the event, current approaches to using traditional ornaments in modern design, fashion, textile, and interior spaces were discussed. Students actively participated by asking questions about the use of national ornament in creative projects, compositional solutions, and the integration of tradition and innovation.

The meeting contributed to increasing students’ interest in national cultural heritage, developing their creative thinking, and supporting their professional orientation. Furthermore, the event served as an important cultural and educational initiative aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in promoting quality education and preserving cultural heritage.
