Opening of the “Kazakh Ethnography” Educational and Methodological Classroom at the Faculty of History

On February 23, 2026, the Department of Archaeology, Ethnology, and Museology of the Faculty of History at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized the official opening ceremony of the “Kazakh Ethnography” educational and methodological classroom.

The establishment of this classroom marks an important step in modernizing the university’s educational environment and advancing the scholarly study of national cultural heritage. Its primary mission is to systematically teach, research, and promote the historical and cultural heritage of the Kazakh people — their traditional way of life, material and spiritual culture — thereby contributing to the preservation and revitalization of national values.

The new educational space serves as a modern platform aimed at deepening students’ ethnographic knowledge, fostering national identity, and strengthening historical consciousness. In addition, the classroom provides opportunities for students to develop research skills and engage in comprehensive work with field ethnographic materials and museum artifacts.
