I am grateful to the heavens for everything!

On February 27, 2026, at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a curatorial hour titled “I Thank the Heavens for Everything” was conducted under the supervision of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature, Ospan A. O. The event was dedicated to the Day of Gratitude in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Third-year students of the educational program “6B02312 – Russian as a Foreign Language” took part in the event.

The purpose of the event was to foster a sense of gratitude among students, promote respect for the history of the country, strengthen interethnic harmony, and cultivate spiritual and moral values as well as a culture of gratitude.

During the curatorial hour, students learned about the history of the Day of Gratitude and its significance in strengthening the unity of the people of Kazakhstan, mutual respect, and support. Special attention was paid to the ideas of peace, harmony, and tolerance as the foundations of sustainable social development.

The program of the event included:

· an introductory speech by the curator on the importance of gratitude in human life;

· a presentation on the history and traditions of the holiday;

· a discussion on the topic “What am I grateful for today?”;

· students’ readings of reflections and essays about gratitude;

· an interactive activity “Words of Appreciation,” during which participants expressed gratitude to their parents, teachers, friends, and their Motherland.

The students actively participated in the discussion, sharing personal reflections and life examples. The atmosphere of the event encouraged open dialogue, strengthened trusting relationships within the group, and contributed to the development of a positive worldview.

As a result of the curatorial hour, the students concluded that gratitude is an important moral value that promotes personal spiritual growth and the harmonization of social relations.
